Cell membranes are structured so that molecules can pass in and out of the cell across them. While both plant and animal cells have membranes, plant cells also have cell walls surrounding their cells. Which of the following observations BEST supports the conclusion that molecules can cross cell walls as well?
the animals because plants do have cell walls so the wall prevents/ doesn't permit molecules to cross them as they don't have pores or channels as well as the cell membranes do ...
The cell wall is a barrier which prevents entry of macromolecules to the plant cell, which, unlike the animal cell it does have a cell wall. It's impresindible that some substances enter the plant cell, so it has some mechanisms to achieve this. One of them is the plasmodesmata, which are communicating channels between two cells. Another mechanism are small holes that are made to the cell wall and are then repaired. Thus molecules that normally can not penetrate the cell wall they do, of course, controlled by the cell.
