what is the root in the chord g bflat and eflat and is it in root position or is it a first inversion

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Sounds like an E flat major chord to me. I don't know a great way to solve these besides just looking at every combination of these three notes. Eb major is Eb G Bb, so the root is Eb and it's not inverted

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's root is Eb and it is in first inversion. The easiest way I find to look at these problems is to look at a keyboard, but I was a pianist so that may be easier for me.

That's an Eb major chord, and since Eb G Bb is root position, this is a first inversion.
