Hey I am working on math and having a bit of trouble on two questions! :3 1) How many solutions does the equation −2|x − 3| + 3 = 4 have? Zero One Two Infinitely Many 2) Solve for x: 2|x − 3| + 1 = 7 x = 0, x = 6 x = −1, x = 6 x = 0, x = 9 No solutions Thanks guys~ =)

1) no solution.... -2|x-3|=1 |x-3|=-1/2 which is not possible because....anything with a modulus is always positive..... 2) 2|x-3|=6 |x-3|=3 x-3=3 or x-3=-3 x=6 or x = 0

@THE_PROPHET Please don't give out the solution. That's not what the site is here for: http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

I wanted to know how to solve it.

havnt read dat!!!

X-3 can be positive or negative before the absolute value is applied. First, solve for |X-3|. If it makes it easier for you, replace |X-3| with Y and solve for Y. Then, replace it back with |X-3|.
