y=-1/2x+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do anyone know this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you want to do with this equation?draw it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve and draw the line graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, ok the equation is y=(-1/2)x+1 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well this is the equation for a line, the slope is -1/2 and it's negative so it's a decreasing line; if you want to find x and y intercep you do y=0 and x=0 and you find that y and x interceps are x=2 y =1

thank u

yw

And then google "graph y=(-1/2)x+1" and see if you drew it correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i work this out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, first you put your pencil on the y intercept, and we clearly see its 1 (because of that term in the equation, remember?) Then you see what kind of slope you have, it says: -½ the numerator is moving up/down, and denominator right/left Now let's see, the numerator is -1, so you move your pencil one down.Then you go to the right 2. |dw:1340749335760:dw| Now you notice you have two dots, the starting, and the ending one then you just draw a line thru the dots
