How GPA is calculated if a person only had grades?
has*
isn't it the average of the grades?
I could have sworn I saw this question posted at one point before already. Must be deja vu kicking in or something
A = 4.0 B = 3.0 C = 2.0 D = 1.0 F = 0.0
Yesterday he posted the same question, and yes it's a 1 - 10 average of grades.
@abb50 , dunno. @Hero , posted it before too. But was unable to get the perfect answer.
it was the drugs hero
1 - 4*
No no 1 - 10 parth
@abb50, no it wasn't
Idk it's 1 - 10 in India and Pakistan
@Hero , what if a the grading also have A* ? @ParthKohli , no. Not in Pak. I dunno about India.
If you get A minus it is like 3.8 or something
Mine was 9.8 A+ = 10 A = 9 B+ = 8 B = 7 C = 6 D = 5 E = 4 F = 0 Something like this.
No A- or anything. Just A*,A,B,C,D,E,F,U Where U is the failing grade,
Parth, is that your report card? By the way, a grade of E does not exist in USA
unless you're talking about Eggs or something
I got an one A and five A+ <=== example (9 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10)/6
Trust me, you don't want Grade E eggs. They're disgusting
lol, in India they are.
What eggs? :O @ParthKohli
lol^
I've never experienced bad ones like B+ and the lower I only know about A+ and A :P
You would have had to have read everything I posted in order to understand
@Hero , so we add the points and divide by the number of subjects? Just like finding average.. ?
Yeah
Yup
like I stated right there
Divide by the number of grades you actually receive only
For example, in classes where a grade of "P" or "I" don't count as a grade
I had 1A, 5B, 1C and 1D A* = 100-90 A = 89-80 and so on..
lol you get C's and D's
Son, it's CIE not a cake.
A = 100 - 90 B = 90 - 80 ... That still exists for grading papers here in the US. However, for the purposes of calculating GPA, it is A = 4.0 B = 3.0 ...etc.
So the moral of the story is, do not buy Grade E eggs.
\[\frac{3.8+5(3) + 2 + 1}{8}\]
Saif in the US your gpa would be (4 + 5(3) + 2 +1 ) / 8 Hero, clearly Parth eats better eggs
2.7
How does that sounds like? o_O
Average
Borderline B-
but you guys have "E" so Id say your like 3.0
what is the percentile for each letter?
http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1080425 What about that^ ?
@eyust707 : I had 1A, 5B, 1C and 1D A* = 100-90 A = 89-80 B = 79-70 and so on..
Okay so with your scale use something like this: A 4.0 B 3.7 C 3.0 D 2.3 E 2.0 F 1.3
\[4 + 5(3.7) + 3 + 2.3 \over 8\]
27.8 / 8 = 3.47500 but @eyust707 why aren't you taking A* into consideration?
my college doenst even have an A+
Tight scale. In the US a B = 3.0 A - = 3.8 What country has 3.7 = B ?
We have A - but not A+. For A+, it is AH, which means A "with honors", but you don't get any higher GPA points
lol we dont even have AH
so how about we say: here : US A* = A A = A-
Some professors consider >92 an A
but id say with most >= 93 is an A
So we end without a conclusion again? :D
It depends how you want to look at it.
Depends on which school you go to. I'd say for most mathematical, science-based, engineering-based schools, you have a tougher grading scale so 93+ = A in those kinds of schools.
If you were applying to a school in the sates they would use the scale I posted.
@eyust707 , idk how i look. I want to know how institutions look at them. lol
eyust, not every school in the US has that scale. You're thinking too limitedly. I just explained it to Saifoo.
Some schools have the 90 - 100 = A 80 - 90 = B model
Most Non-mathematical based schools: 90 - 100 = A 80 - 90 = B etc. Mathematical/Science/Engineering Based: 93 - 100 = A 92 - 84 = B etc.
We even don't get marks. ONLY grades.
Every large university in California uses the scale I posted or something similar to it. However, they also take into consideration the number of units.
Once again, you're speaking on behalf of "every university in California". California is not the only state in America
lol
Maybe in your world, but for the rest of the other 49 states, we'd probably be doing better financially as a country without Cali
Cali, holds more than a quarter of the US deficit alone I believe
...
lol
just sayin
I know
Thanks both btw! (:
Here's how they do it in the CSU system: A 4.0 A- 3.7 B+ 3.3 B 3.0 C+ 2.3 C 2.0 C- 1.7 D+ 1.3 D 1.0 Multiply the grade value by the number of units. (Some classes are 3 units and some classes are 4 units). Add all of the numbers up and divide by the number of units taken.
No need to brag about your grading system @eyust707 :P
lol.
