(Velocity of ocean wave) V=3.5square root for h?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

could you rewrite the question please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

V=3.5 square root h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

V=3.5(Square root sign)h

OpenStudy (eyust707):

What do the directions say?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the velocity of ocean wave? V=3.5(square root sign)h

OpenStudy (eyust707):

It seems as though the velocity is given. \[v=3.5\sqrt{h}\] "v" represents the velocity, and "h" probably represents wave height. Right now v is a function of h which means that if we plug in a wave height that equation will output a velocity. If you would like to know a specific velocity we need to know how tall the wave is.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Without a specific wave height we can not solve for velocity any further.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's all I have is V=3.5(square root sign)h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It sounds like they are asking for the square root 3.5
