If x = 3 and y = -2, then x^2 + 2y = ? A. 2 B. 5 C. 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B. 5

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

x^2 + 2y = (3)^2 + 2(-2)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

got it @Tarlock ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's A because x^2 would be 6 and 2y would be -4 so you would subtract 4 from 6 to get 2 c:

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

@elletoday 3^2 is 9 :) good explanation though
