OpenStudy (kingj):

A triangle has the following measurements. What is a possible length for the third side? AB = 5, BC = 7, CA = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

CA<AB+BC CA<12

OpenStudy (kingj):

can you explain please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@KingJ is it a right triangle perhaps?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right triangle = has a square indicated in the corner meaning it's a right angle, 90\(^o\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try drawing a triangle with the with side AC= AB+BC You cant, the best you can do is make a straight line. Therefore EVERY SIDE of the triangle must be smaller in length then the sum of the other two sides.

OpenStudy (kingj):

thanks
