Hello, I need to an estimate of how many words fit onto one page of a formal text like a thesis. I can count the words, but need to estimate the lenght in numbers of pages.
How long is your thesis, or how long do you want it to be?
It can be up to 100 pages. I have no idea now many I have now, or where to cut the chapters (in two), if they get too long. It's an autoethnography that rambles in a thousand directions, so the structure is more fathomable if one looks at the subtitles. I'm composing a series of 2000 -4000 word sections that are proliferating. Would be nice to have a quick conversion factor for estimating what this would look like with the correct margins, double spacing and 12 point font. I write in single space 10pt with very wide margins so I can print drafts out on fewer pages. I have no input from anyone here. Everyone is on vacation. Thanks. It's going to be a really weird thesis. Mostly concerned that these sections read easily as separate units than what it says in total. My entire committee is outside my department, so just need to make it easy to read, like on the sofa in front of the TV. What's a comfortable length for a text that one couldn't possibily critique for content? How weird is that? I'm an accomplished author in my field [applied linguistics, EAP] having only gone back for the credentials. Guess I'm bored with this project actually. Want to see if you know off hand of a page/word conversation equation... or whatever it would be called formally, Thx. GF
