Pentagon ABCDE is shown on the coordinate plane below. If pentagon ABCDE is rotated 180° around the origin to create pentagon A’B’C’D’E’, what is the ordered pair of point D’? (-1, 2) (2, 1) (1, -2) (-2, -1)

@Calcmathlete .. help please?

Meh...I stink at rotations...although I do know how to do this one, I don't know how to explain it.. @ganeshie8 care to try explaining it?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

me too... i get dyslexic with rotations :/ @Calcmathlete , correct me if its wrong : An ordered pair (x, y) becomes (-x, -y) after 180 degree rotation so the ordered pair (1, -2) becomes (-1, 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe so. I don't do it that way. I keep track of distances in relation to rotation...kind of like a mental distance rotation. I believe that is the answer though.

yeah thats right :D thankyou soo much

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

np :)

Same here :)
