The perimeter of a rectangle is 10 cm, and its dimensions are tripled. What is the perimeter of the larger rectangle? 12 cm 20 cm 30 cm 10 cm

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Do you know what the phrase "Dimensions are tripled" means? (like, can you draw a before and after picture)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

sorry for that..continue the teaching @mathteacher1729 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It means that its tripled. I don't think i can draw it

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

What, exactly, is tripled? Not trying to be a poo-poo head, depending on how you interpret this problem, there are different answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the perimeter of the rectangle

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

The dimensions are not the perimeter. The dimensions mean "the length and the width". So if the length is say, 4 and the width is 1, then the perimeter is 4 + 4 + 1 + 1 |dw:1341673430917:dw|
