Plzz help. Create a third degree polynomial that when divided by x + 2 has a remainder of –4. Demonstrate how this problem would be solved using both long division and synthetic division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which part are you having trouble with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

creating it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, well, you know what it means to be third degree, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here's what I would do: 1) set up a long division problem or a synthetic division problem, whichever one you prefer. 2) Write in your "divided by x+2" part 3) Fill in MOST of the third degree polynomial, but leave the last term blank. 4) Do most of the division problem normally, and then when you get to the last step, fill in the last term so that the remainder is -4.

okay. ty.
