OpenStudy (anonymous):

24 > 10 – 2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Firstly subtract 10 from both the sides...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14>-2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now you should divide it by 2 and not (-2) Divide it by 2..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14/2=7, -2x/2=x? x>7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No... Simply divide it by 2 like this.. Don't do fast Solve this: \[\frac{14}{2} > \frac{-2x}{2}\] Tell me what you will get..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7>-1x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But then the on is implied and I don't need it correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now you must remember one point always in your life: WHEN WE MULTIPLY BOTH SIDES BY (-1) OF AN INEQUALITY SIGN REVERSES.. By using this point, multiply both the sides by (-1) and tell me what you will get??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x>-14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How?? When you multiply 7 with -1 what you get??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7 > -1x or 7> -x all this is really saying is 7 is greater than the opposite some numbers x you want to get x by itself, so multiply both sides by -1 -7 > x however this is not right, as we will need to flip the sign to make it as it was before -7 < x now it reads -7 is less than some number x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was suppose to be -7, I was looking at my notes wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So got your answer now??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got it, thanks for your help again.
