Which of the following best describes the process of conjugation? DNA segments from broken-down prokaryotic cells are taken in and incorporated into the DNA of living cells. A bridgelike connection forms between two prokaryotic cells, through which genetic information is transferred. Changes in a cell’s DNA sequences occur during replication, and those changes are passed on to daughter cells. A virus takes in a segment of DNA from one bacterial cell and inserts it into another bacterial cell.

Oh, THIS conjugation. The kind that isn't relevant to my exam tomorrow. I can't think of any hints to give you except to look it up on Wikipedia. But note: "conjugation" refers to (at least) two different things. One of them is listed in the answers given, and the other one isn't.

Just look it up... you'll get the answer soon enough.

Still found nothing

"A bridgelike connection forms between two prokaryotic cells, through which genetic information is transferred" would be my answer. Conjugation is also something in languages/grammar, by the way.

In prison they have something called "Conjugal visits". You might want to look that up so that you'll understand what's going on between the prokaryotes and the penetration of their cell walls...

The OTHER conjugation occurs between ciliates. It is also a form a sexual reproduction/mating.
