need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2,-2)(0,-3)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

they are ordered pairs... do you need to find 1. midpoint, 2. distance between 3. slope 4. equation of the line passing through the points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am i right

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok thats rise/run or the algebraic formula is \[m = \frac{y _{2} - y _{1}}{x _{2} - x _{1}}\] select (2, -2) as the 2 point and (0, 3) as the 1 point then substituting \[m = \frac{ -2 -3}{2 - 0}\] just simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am i right -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am i right

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

what is -2 -3 = ..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you did the difference in x divided by the difference in y...it's the other way around. -2 is not right. @campbell_st...you misread the numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

no its not the answer.... do thae arithmetic... what is \[\frac{ -2 -3}{2 - 0} = ?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 2

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

can you tell me what -2 -3 is..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

nope... try again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

nope try again here is an online calculator that may help http://web2.0calc.com/
