2/x+4/3=4?

OpenStudy (hba):

PLEASE DRAW IT FRM EQUATION BOX

OpenStudy (callisto):

I assume the question to be \[\frac{2}{x} + \frac{4}{3} = 4\]Subtract 4/3 from both sides, what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah like that! I couldn't figure out how to make a fractionn.): You would get 2/x=4-4/3

OpenStudy (callisto):

Can you simplify the right side of the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG!(: I know the answer now!! It's 3/4...???

OpenStudy (callisto):

Yes..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How the quack did i get that.....?? I confused myself.

OpenStudy (callisto):

:S 2/x=4-4/3 Simplify the right side. 2/x=8/3 Multiply both sides by x. 2 = 8/3 (x) Divide both sides by the coefficient of x x = 2/ (8/3) = 2(3) / 8 = ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't do any of that.. I just guessed...

OpenStudy (callisto):

Well... You can do that actually. Learn to do it, it's not that difficult :)
