Solve the equation for y: 4x + 3y = -12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SOlving for y simply means that we want y by itself in onside

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y = \frac{-4x - 12}{3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesnt want that 4x to be there so we must get rid of it....you can do that by subtracting 4x to both sides

Or: \[y = \frac{-4x}{3} - 4\]
