Solve for x. log2x + log(x-1) = log6x

OpenStudy (valpey):

When you add logs together, it is the same as the log of the product of the terms so: \[log(a)+log(b) = log(a*b)\] Also, you cannot take the log of zero or a negative number.

OpenStudy (valpey):

Your problem is of the form: \[log(a)+log(b)=log(c)\] You can simplify with: \[log(a*b)=log(c)\] And as long as you make sure neither c or a*b are <= 0 you can say: \[a*b=c\]

Thank you!! This helped a lot!
