The coordinates of two points are a(-2,6) and b(9,3). find the coordinates of the point c on the x-axis. AC=BC?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

could you draw it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is nothing to draw...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question is asking to find point C, the midpoint between point A and point B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simple . First you find the grad , y=mx+ c and then sub y=0 there you go

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I have to find the mid point c and then put it in the equation AC=BC?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dont find midpoint :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this another question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope the same I used the distance formula Use the distance formula. (-2, 6)(x, y) = \/(y - 6)^2 + (x + 2)^2 (9, 3)(x, y) = \/(y - 3)^2 + (x - 9)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to eliminate the radical symbol I have to square these both how to do that
