Which of the following changes should be implemented to help achieve sustainable farming while also protecting the environment? Tilling the ground to remove weeds and create uniform crops Clearing land for agriculture by cutting down trees instead of burning them Growing the same crop in a given field each year to improve efficiency Using predatory insects to control pests that destroy crops instead of pesticides
Only one of the answers given is not ridiculously bad for the environment.
So it would be B i think ?
?
D is the most logical answer to me. Here's a quick little list: A: The main problem is you shouldn't be removing trees at all, because it harms the enviroment. And technically, there's no big enviromental difference between burning or cutting down trees, as burning wood like that doesn't damage the atmosphere like, say, burning trash does. B: If you grow the same crop in a specific field every year, year after year, then the soil will become infertile. This is one of the problems that caused The Dust Bowl. C: While I can't think of anything wrong with tilling the ground, I can't think of any way it benefits the enviroment, whereas... D: Using predatory insects (i.e. ladybugs) as opposed to pesticides not only helps agriculture by getting rid of crop-eating pests, it is completely safe for the enviroment because it's the natural course of events, you're just using it to your advantage, whereas pesticides can damage the atmosphere. This is based on my own logic and knowledge, but I have ressearched very similar subjects before, as well as taken logic classes.
Thanks haha
