Which conic section does the equation below describe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats a circle - you can recognize it by fact theres always an x^2 and y^2 with no coefficients > 1 and no term in xy , there can also be a term in x and term in y and a number

So if the coefficients of x and y are the same, it will always be a circle? Or it has to be 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you can complete the square, it is a standard form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is always an x^2 and y^2 ( not 2x^2, 3x^2 or 2y^2 etc)

Oh ok. Thank youu :)
