Hello guys !! I am a newbie in Finance and trying hard to know the cash-flows and valuation of most of the asset types. I chose 'Options, Futures and other derivatives by John C. Hull' book to cover these concepts. Do you guys think that I made the right choice? Anything else you would like to suggest and advice me? BTW, if some of you are already going through this book, we can together form a study group specifically for this book. Do give me a buzz...
peakit whenever you have any doubt ask me
Hull is useful if you are interested in pricing derivatives. For simple cash flow modeling look at the books by http://simonbenninga.com/
HI Peakit, Please clarify whether you are looking for a book/material on valuation of a company or valuation of futures/options/derivative contracts. John C Hull book would be useful if you are looking at pricing derivatives, however for valuation of stocks/companies you can look at other books by authors like Ashwath Damodaran, Warren Buffet, Benjman Graham, etc.
@sridharcw, I am looking for valuation of futures, options, derivatives contracts. Thanks!
For options you can also consider some books published by CBOE which are high quality and very comprehensive. I dont recall the name of the book that I have read, but there are several publications from CBOE which you can consider.
