simplify this expression; (x^7)^9
\[\huge \color{green}{(x^a)^b = (x)^{a \times b}}\]
Use this formula, replace a by 7 and b by 9.. Let us see what you get..
@RebeccaMichelle can you do that or not?? Atleast give a reply..
im confused.
It is okay.. See the formula once again.. After seeing reply me..
okay i looked at it again. I use to understand these but now i forgot
It is okay.. Now tell me what is in the left hand side?? What I have written left hand side in that formula??
Or simply can you identify \(a\) and \(b\) by comparing the formula with the question given??
@rebeccamichelle - if you are still confused, then maybe the explanations on this site might help you: http://www.mathsisfun.com/algebra/exponent-laws.html
