What is the slope of the line represented by the equation x = -9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=mx+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m=slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=-9 is a vertical line.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

|dw:1342386822318:dw|

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

infinite slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some would say undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[m=\frac{rise}{run}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I was going to say that timo since you rise to infinity but do not run at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you. I get confused at the ones that only give one number >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well if it gives just one number like y=c then 0 is the slope if it gives you one number as in x=c then it is undefined Where c is a number
