which of the following is the simplified form of ((4y^2-1)/(2y^2-3y-2)) a.) ((2y-1)/(y-2)) with the restrictions y ≠ –1/2 and y ≠ –2 b.) ((2y-1)/(y-2)) with the restriction y ≠ – 1/2 and y ≠ 2 *i narrowed it down to these 2 but im not sure which it is*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well one of y ≠ –2 or y ≠ 2 is true am i right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=2 makes division by zero so which one of those can be true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the restriction -2 or +2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is your denominator tell me first..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is ((2y-1)/(y-2)) i just dont kno what the restriction is (are)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry the factors will be: \[(y-2)(2y+1) \ne 0\] So, \[y \ne 2\] \[y \ne \frac{-1}{2}\]
