Both are same but velocity is a vector quantity and speed is a scaler one. which actually means that for velocity magnitude and direction both are important to completely describe them.

First, know that speed is a scalar quantity. Velocity and acceleration are both vector quantities. Acceleration is defined as the rate of change in velocity with respect to time:\[a=\frac{dV}{dt}=\frac{\Delta V}{\Delta t}\]
