How does a universal genetic code relate to the hypotheses about the origin of life on Earth?
What do you think?
ummm I really don't know
Do you understand it??
Well... the dominant theory is that all life is descended from one original simple organism. In other words, life arose (or was created, if you prefer) once and all living things are the result of that one event. If, on the other hand, life had arisen multiple times independently, what would you expect to see? Do you think it's likely that all of those original organisms would have independently developed a genetic code that just happens to work the same way?
That the genetic code is universal - that it is shared by all life forms on earth - suggests that life evolved once and only once and that all contemporary life forms descended from that same ancestor.
so swagdaday? is that the answer in self?
