If the length of each side of a cube is reduced to its original value, is the surface area reduced to its original value?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not sure I understand your question. Lets say there was some original value and you then increased the sides (and therefore the surface area). You seem to be asking whether this procedure can be reversed? I should think so, right?

If the length of each side of a cube is reduced to 1/3 its original value, is the surface area reduced to 1/3 its original value?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, what about a test... Take a cube of side 3, 6 faces of 3*3 is 54 Reduce side to 1 6 faces of 1*1 is 6 (reduction is 1over 3 squared)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Happy with that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes very

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks helped alot

line = 1, area = squared, volume is cubed....

What is the exact diameter of an area rug with a circumference of 42 feet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

????

This is a new question, you should post it new so people will see it...... Any way, just use circumference = pi*diameter
