f an object experiences a leftward net force, then it will accelerate in which direction? rightward leftward there will be no acceleration
if*
If you push a ball to the left, which way does it move?
the bal will move to the left
Right...and since it's moving faster to the left as a result, there must be a leftward acceleration
well thats much eaiser to think of it that way haha thanks
Well, technically it doesn't have to be moving faster to the left after you push it. For instance, it could have been moving to the right to begin with. However, if you push it to the left (apply a leftward force), the ball may just slow down (in the right direction)...or stop...reverse directions. It depends on how long the force is applied and the ball's initial velocity. Hopefully that's not just confusing you :)
Either way, Force = mass * acceleration...so if you apply a force in the left direction, then the acceleration will be to the left.
