OpenStudy (swissgirl):

How wld u find \( (a+2b)^4 \)

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

The 2b is throwing me off here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how so?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

what are you asked to do... expand...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you want to expand it?

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

ya using binomail theorem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can just substitute another variable for 2b and plug 2b into the final expansion: \[(a+c)^{4}\] where c = 2b

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

ya ok thanks

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the coefficients will be 1 4 6 4 1 so its 1a^4 + 4a^3(2b) + 6a^2(2b)^2 + 4a(2b)^3 + (2b)^4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.purplemath.com/modules/binomial.htm great stuff

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

oh yay. I like that link
