When to use velocity=displacement/time and velocity=s/t? I mean, whats the main difference? please explain clearly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the very same thing s stands for displacement whereas t stands for time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@paarth - s stands for distance, and displacement and distance are different! one is vector while the other is a scaler quantity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jahanvi as far as i know, and i think i know correctly, s is the symbol for displacement

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, lets see..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

speed= distance/time distance is the total length of the motion displacement is the final position minus the initial position velocity= displacement/time

@Natan - Tenks! :)
