All of the following sentences use apostrophes incorrectly except: The real funs' going to begin when we yell, “Surprise!” My favorite part of summer picnics is the hot dogs' and hamburgers'. Their going to the mountains to stay in they're cabin. I am so nervous about the test even though it's not until later today

An apostrophe can be used for a couple of reasons. 1) It can be used to show possession: ex. my dog's bed. For plural possession, the apostrophe comes after the 's'. 2) It can be used to take the place of some letters and combine two words into one: ex. It is Wednesday --> It's Wednesday. They are going to the mall --> They're going to the mall. Try to split it up if you are not sure you should use "their" or "they're". So, for "...to stay in they're cabin", Does "...to stay in THEY ARE cabin" make sense? If not, an apostrophe does not make sense. In terms of their/there -- think of HERE and (T)HERE. They are nearly spelled the same and both indicate location! Hope this helps :)

Let me clarify. For plural possession, it comes after the s. For example, my dogs' toy. (if you have more than one dog that share the toy)
