Help with this please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^3+3x^2-4x-12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have you tried solving for 4x-12 first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry can you explain what you mean by solvin 4x-12? sorry haha i only had one lesson on this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(4x-12) you would cancel out the 4x and do 12 +4 since the equation says to subtraction this situation you do the opposite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but there are no parenthesis. btw sry i shouldve said this in the beginning but the directions say to factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh no i just put it in parenthesis so you could understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. Then where did the parenthsis come from? In other words, why is it there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just to separate the equation so i could make it easier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if it is subtraction you but the parenthesis there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dnt worry asbout those

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok let me solve it real quick

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is not an equation. Do you mean to say: "Simplify the expression?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It just says Factor. haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This will actually factor into a perfect square trinomial.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be ok if u explained?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@qpHalcy0n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You will arrive with a product of three binomials: (x +/- a)(x +/- b)(x +/- c)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ty!!!
