How do I solve this problem using Cross Multiplication? *View Picture* Please help! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract x/6 both the sides first..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{x+3}{x+5} = \frac{5}{6} - \frac{x}{6} \implies \color{red}{\frac{x+3}{x+5} = \frac{5-x}{6}}\]

Now cross mutiply: \[\implies \color{blue}{6(x+3) = (x +5)(5-x)} \implies \color{green}{6x + 18 = -(x^2 - 25)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\large \color{cyan}{x^2 + 6x - 7 = 0}\] Solve this by factorization now..
