any one good at answer questions about poems
Sure.
I have a lot of question and I need help because I have a reading comprehension problem and I can read a story a hundred times and not remember what I read
Sure! :D
For instance one of the questions is What sound device does Tennyson use in the following line from "The Kraken"? A. consonance and alliteration B. onomatopoeia and assonance C. alliteration and onomatopoeia D. assonance and consonance
What's the line?
oops Below the thunders of the upper deep
Well, it's not consonance; that's only when a letter is repeated a bunch (pitter patter); assonance is repetition of vowel sounds (maybe a little bit - don't 'ers' in thunders and 'er' in upper kind of fit that?), onomatopoeia are sounds (like oink), but I'm not sure - is 'thunders' one? can't be alliteration, as alliteration has words starting with the same sound (fist fight)
What do you think? :)
That is what I thought it don't really make since because it is not any of the two really maybe just assonance
I know it is not onomatopoeia
Actually, it could be consonance, because of the repetition of the p's and d's: U pp er d ee p
Just say the line out loud. That helps.
so it is assonance and consonance
I would think so, because of the patterns. If you feel that is the answer, go for it.
thank you
No problem :>
your explanation well help me on a few more
I was confused on assonance and consonance
I have a whole bunch more but I am so overwhelmed with it I can't think straight
Sure.
