can you show a solution how you came up with 14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really this was the second time I did it after I out 12 and got it wrong then just guessed

i'm not sure about this, but since we have 2 equations, 1 unknown, we can equate them to get the value of x. we have: x+4 and 2x-3 so: x+4 = 2x-3 4+3 = 2x-x x = 7 substitute x to equation: 7+4 = 11 2(7)-3 = 11 based from your diagram, line AB is longer than AD and DC.

Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sweet. I hope you got it how we came up with 11 though. :)
