What are the zeros of the polynomial function: f(x) = (x – 3)(x + 1)(x + 5)? and If f(x) = 2x2 – 4x + 5 and g(x) = 2x – 2, what is f(x) + g(x) ?

Parth (parthkohli):

You see three factors, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

Parth (parthkohli):

You may evaluate each zero from looking at the factors. If \(k\) is a zero, then \(x - k\) is a factor.

Parth (parthkohli):

So, in \(x - 3\), \(k\) looks like 3 right?

Parth (parthkohli):

Just do the same for all the others. Careful if you have a positive sign. If you have \(x + k\), then you may express it as \(x + (-k)\) so then -k will be a zero.
