Translate phrase into math expression. Five times a number minus twice the same number? This is what I got 5(x-2x) is that correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have a number, from which you subtract twice the original number. Multiply this by five

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you say it is five times a number minus twice the same number, we are led to think of it as 5x-2x, while in reality, if you remove the parentheses, it would be 5x-10x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would simply be 5x-2x? When we simplify it would be 3x?
