x+y=7 3x-2y=11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

using elimination ? or substitution ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

(x+y)= 7 -3(x+y)= -3*7 -3x-3y=-21 now add them 3x-2y=11 -5y= -10 y = 2 x+2 = 7 x = 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

do you see what I did?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=5

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply equation 1 with 2 2x+2y=14 now add the second equation with this 3x-2y=11 so 2x+3x+2y-2y=14+11 5x=25 x=5 put this in any of the original equation to get y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4x+9=33

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x+y=7......................1 3x-2y=11................2 from equation 1 x=7-y now put into 2nd equation then get y then put into 1st equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2-18x+45 factor the polynomial completely
