OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please explain how to solve this. Anyway got 100% in my exam last Saturday!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3, because it will divide by zer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont understand why x+3 will be 0 here why not x+4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont understand why x+3 will be 0 here why not x+4?@AugustinusSextus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for what value of x \[\frac{x+4}{x+3}\] suppose you put -4 then it would be \[\frac{0}{-1}=0\] but suppose you put -3 \[\frac{1}{0}=\text{ undefined }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am so sorry @waterineyes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the question can you explain it here..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah as I can't see it, it is undefined.. Ha ha ha..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For what value(s) is the statement x+4 undifined? x+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idont really know how to use drawing here though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When a fraction gets undefined?/ When its denominator becomes 0.. So: x + 3 = 0 (this condition we have to avoid) So \(x \ne -3\)..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a theory, remember it , you put all the time The denominator \[\neq 0\] In this case: \[x +3 \neq 0\] \[x \neq -3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How about when the numerator is equal to 0 how you call that?@waterineyes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which grade you are in @nia_maepenix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@waterineyes first year

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah it's easy just it's all 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If numerator is 0 then the value is 0 and not, not defined..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you studied about functions range domain etc..??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\large \frac{0}{1} = 0\] \[\large \frac{1}{0} = \color{green}{Undefined}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[o \div x+3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, you are allowed to make numerator 0 but denominator should be not equal to 0..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so any number divided by zero is equal to zero?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\large \frac{0}{x+3} = 0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If x is different than -3, so the value will be 0, if x= -3 it's undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0 is divided by any number is 0 @nia_maepenix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@waterineyes thanks a lot. I understand it now Dear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here you are dividing 0 with x + 3 so : 0 divided by any number is 0 and any number divided by 0 is undefined..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Welcome dear..
