Are dominant allele masked in homozyous

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An individual is either homozygous or heterozygous for a given trait. (If heterozygous, she posesses both allele types (a dominant and a recessive allele), and the dominant allele will be seen in the phenotype. You could say the recessive allele is 'masked'.) If the individual is homozygous, she is so either for the dominant allele ( - she has a pair of two dominant alleles for the trait) or she is homozygous for the recessive allele (in which case she has only (the) two recessesive alleles).
