Vaccinations and other public health measures had eliminated which disease globally by 1980? A. AIDS B. tuberculosis C. smallpox D. Ebola
I'm sure you can eliminate at least two of these answers pretty easily...
i select C or D
Have you heard about the outbreak of one of the diseases on this list in Uganda? It's been all over the news in the past couple of days.
i didn't
Check your favourite news site and look for African or health news. It's one of those diseases that always hits the news when there's an outbreak.
it's ebola, I found it from internet
Right. Ebola is killing people RIGHT NOW and there is no vaccine or cure, so it can't be the disease that the question is talking about.
about 19th century
i mean about 1980
i wanna guess AIDS
Only one of the diseases on that list isn't around any more. It's actually the only human disease that we've ever completely wiped out (except for samples kept by e.g. the US military).
AIDS is very much still around. It's killing millions in Africa as we speak, and there are plenty of people in the developed world who have it too. Scientists are trying to find a vaccine, but they haven't had any luck yet.
thanks
Smallpox! The WHO (world health organization) wiped it out through intensive vaccinations across the globe in the late 60's. Hope that helps. :)
