would this be i work fast? The faster I go, the more mistakes I make. I make a lot of mistakes. @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So you're still deriving a conclusion right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats true.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its like the last question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assume that the given statements are true. What conclusion, if any, can be drawn from these premises

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Consider this similar example If it rains, then it is wet outside It is wet outside Can I conclude that it must've rained (or it's raining)? The answer is no because other things can make it wet outside (like a hose)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So just because you make a lot of mistakes, it does not mean you work fast. Sure if you work fast, you'll make a lot of mistakes, but it doesn't work the other way around (since other things may be the cause of your mistakes)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you point please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now wait, im confused again

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

working fast isn't the only thing that causes mistakes, agreed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So if I told you that I made a mistake (or I am making a mistake), then can you conclude I'm working (too) fast?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no working fast can mean a lot of things. i personally think if work really fast then i tend to stress and that leads to silly mistakes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No conclusion can be drawn.?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's true hal_stirrup, but it's slightly different than what you're saying I'm basically saying that there is no way to conclude that you're working fast if you know 100% that you make mistakes

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you are correct hali12

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no conclusion can be drawn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

question? why would you want to work fast????? anyway???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maths is not a race but an art of thinking with logic and good reasoning.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome... hali12
