What is the term for producing a current by changing a magnetic field?
well by changing magnetic field you can call it as induced current
not one of the answers
when you change magnetic field then current is induced in the conductor so i called it induced current which thereafter will produce it's magnetic field that will oppose the applied magnetic field..
the answer can be Eddy Current.
eddy current is the current produced on the surface of conductor and by changing magnetic field the current that is developed is called as induced current it is throughout the conductor or you can say across the cross section ..but eddy current is different it is basically unwanted current
well, eddy current IS an induced current produced due to changing magnetic flux. and the question doesn't specifically state whether the current has to be surfacial or not. also, eddy currents are not always disadvantageous.
yes eddy currents are used in fans, train brakes etc
i didn't say disadvantageous i said unwanted...yea eddy current is used in welding and brakes
both the answers are correct in a way i think...but i go with gazi on this its more general..
yup. ghazi is right to say that the current produced in that way is an induced one. i just gave another name for it, since induced current was not among the options.
