here u can see http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=3%28x+%2B+4%29+%E2%89%A5++x+-+2

3x+12 (because we use distributive property) > x-2 2x>-14 X> -7

if u see this link u will be understanding well

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

Ok so our problem is.. 3(x+4) ≥ x - 2 First, we have parenthesis. We will take care of them by using Distributive property. So.. 3(x+4) ≥ x - 2 will become.. 3x+12 ≥ x-2 Next, we shall subtract the 12 on both sides.. We will use our new equation.. 3x+12 ≥ x-2 3x-12 -12 ------------- 3x ≥ x-14 Now we will subtract the 'x' on both sides. We will use our new equation.. 3x ≥ x-14 -x -x --------- 2x ≥ -14 Now we will divide the 2 on both sides. We will use our new equation.. 2x ≥ -14 2x/2 ≥ -14/2 x ≥ -7 P.s. Welcome to OpenStudy!
