I need to find the vertices of the hyperbola: (y+@)^2/1 - (x+9)^2/9 = 1
thats y+2 not y+@
Got this little chart from Paul's notes. It pretty much has all you need to know about hyperbolas =P
In your case, k = -2, h = -9, b = 1, a = 3. So the vertices are (-9, -1) and (-9, -3).

Yeah, but you have to be super careful, or else you easily lose points on your homework. I remember every time I was so sure I was right, but the computer spat out a red "incorrect." It got very frustrating :/
it would be nice if it would say how/where you got it wrong, but computers aren't that smart (yet)
