In February of 1945 (shortly before F.D.R. died), the Allied leaders, Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin met at Yalta to decide what they would do when the war was over. What did they decide? A. Germany would be divided into zones and its leaders would be put on trial. B. Countries liberated from the Axis would be allowed to rule themselves. C. A new world organization would be created to replace the League of Nations. D. all of the above
It can be difficult to remember and discern between the different conferences, but the main point of the Yalta conference was the divison of Germany, as the country was viewed as hostile and unstable. Imagine a circle around the letter 'Y', and you can kind of envision a 3-sectioned figure. Germany was divided into 3 regions like 'Y'; parts for the USSR, USA, and Britain. Later, the US and Britain divided their shares of occupational territory to allow for a section for France (which was not originally given a piece because they were viewed as white-flag-brandishing cowards, essentially) It should also be noted that the USSR (soviet Union) basically took control over Eastern Europe, holding countries under Communist governments until one by one, they would become independent. Hope that helps you find the answer ;)
