could anyone help me understand basic things about inertia? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's your doubt?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand how to imagine how inertia works? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Inertia is just the property of any body to resist any change in it's state. The more the inertia, the harder it is change it's state (of rest or motion). For example, you have to exert more force to move a washing machine than to move a coin because it has more 'inertia'. You can imagine it as being EQUIVALENT to mass, really.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh, the heavier the object, the more it difficult to stop or move u mean right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Absolutely.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. i get it now. ^_^ btw, law related to inertia is 2nd Newton Law isn't?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thanks bro! :))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Glad to help. Good luck. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no!! it is derived from newton's first law guys!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh, first law? :O okay, get it. thanks for reminding :))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hehe..thats okay..glad to be of assistance..:)
