I suppose you mean 9+3n=6? For compound inequalities, solve each one seperately first. Then, because both of them must be true, it means that the answer is limited to a certain se of numbers of number. For example, let's say you solve it and get (This is not the answer) x=-5 and x<15, teh answer would be x=-5 because the answer has to fit both rules.

Another example of the concept is if the answers you get are, say, x<25 and x<10, the answer would be x<10 because x<10 limits x<25 to a certain set in order for all the numbers in said set of answers to be true for both equations.
