How to find H.C.F. of two POLYNOMIALS ?? @ParthKohli @dumbcow :)

Parth (parthkohli):

Specific question?

Parth (parthkohli):

You just factor and see.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

HCF ?

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes, Dumbo. GCD.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

haha ok

OpenStudy (theviper):

Can I have an example @ParthKohli & @dumbcow ??

Parth (parthkohli):

\[x^2 + 2x \\ x^2+x \]First factor both.\[x(x + 2)\\x(x + 1) \]We have a common factor(which also happens to be the greatest as it is the only one).

Parth (parthkohli):

That common factor is \(x\), since both polynomials are perfectly divisible by \(x\).

Parth (parthkohli):

Also, both the polynomials have \(x\) as a common factor(which was what I initially explained).

Parth (parthkohli):

Does that help? @TheViper

OpenStudy (theviper):

yup thanx \(Parth\)
